Today, I am proud to be an American.

I know its become popular over the years to be proud of yourself, or your team, or your skin tone just... because. But I say be proud of your accomplishments. Be proud of the things for which you are responsible no matter how small your part. Be proud when you have overcome an obstacle through diligence, and perseverance. And be proud when your choices are based on an adherence to a moral high ground. Be proud today America... we've earned it!

In the most powerful country in the world we needed to take care of our own. It IS that simple. Our people should not want for the basic necessities of life. We just took a step toward that end. Providing the basic necessities to all means empowering our country to truly prosper as every man, woman, and child is free to strive for more.

I am happy that my tax dollars will provide health care for those who need it. I am happy that my tax dollars will provide health care if I need it. I am proud of our president who has rejuvenated, inspired, and moved our populace to action. Don't blink! You may miss out on a great awakening. President Obama is waking us up to a truth that I feared was dying in the hearts of our people. But now we are first hand witnesses to the very power that created our nation and the power that can transform the world. This country IS the people. This government IS the people. And the people, every last man, woman, and child, are OUR people. This step toward true health care reform is a reflection of our continued allegiance to one another and our endless duty to act in the best interest of all Americans thereby EARNING those fundamental rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness... and now in relatively good health!!!

Who is God?

I am who am.

I am that I am.

I am.

God exists.

He is.

He is all who is or all whoever was.

The human voice.

All of humanity is God.

We were created in his image. Not me. Not you.

We were created in his image. When all of humanity, those before, and those to come, are present, one witnesses the face of God. When all of humanity, acts in accordance with God's will, then God's will be done.

We are a reflection of the creator. We are the body of Christ. We are the hands that are called to do the work of the spirit.

Christ is the head of that body, and he calls us into action.

We exist... like God. We are. We have been. We will always be.

God is here, in us.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

What is it that you would have others do unto you?

What is the weakness of all humans?

What is it that we all crave and most try to attain?

Power!

We all strive for power.

Power over our resources, our lives, our brother.

This is what we must give up.... this is the very thing that we must do unto others.

Let them be in power... let your brother be your master. Wash his or her feet. Be subservient to your brother. Be less than he on earth. Be meek and you shall inherit the earth.

Christ came and was all powerful, and washed feet and healed the sick, and loved those who hated him, and he died horribly at their hands, and was tortured and humiliated. What is the lesson?

Annihilate the animal within. Be not of this earth. Be a child of God. Be above all human and earthly things. Forsake control over your brother. Forsake want of power. Be like a little child. Be meek. Be a reflection of God. And all those who love his brother as he loves himself make up the body of Christ and are the return of Christ on earth. Make him real. Be Christ. Not as an individual, that is not your call. Your call is to stand together and be the body of Christ doing God's will on earth.

Thy will be done.

In God's image and The Golden Rule

Speaking of Christ...

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

It's not rocket science but it's often over looked.

The Golden Rule is often employed as if it read, "Don't do to other people what you wouldn't want done to you."

Vastly different in it's implications.

Do is a call to action. Do for your neighbor is different from don't do to your neighbor.

The difference is subtle, but like the butterfly effect, ripples all through Christianity, changing how it is viewed by others, and altering the fruit that it produces.

When Don't do is the practical manifestation of the golden rule it changes in entirety the very thing that differentiates the new testament from the teachings of the old testament.

Don't do is already in the old testament. The new testament is a new book, and a new calling. A calling for action.

The old book was a book of law. The new book is a book which makes God present on the earth through his people. Doing to and for others, rather than Not Doing to others means acting out God's will on earth.

We were made in the image of God.

How?

Does God grow facial hair?

Is that how we are like him?

Or is there more? Are we like him in a more profound way?

Could it be that we are like him in that we can do for others, that we can demonstrate compassion, mercy, forgiveness... that we as a people, as the body of Christ, can do the work of Christ, and thereby mirror the will of, and be a reflection of God.

Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

How?

How will thy will be done?

We must do it.

We are the body of Christ. What does that mean? Should we pray in a big group and wait for miracles?

Or... are we the miracle? Can we make miracles? Can we do the will of God by following the simplest of rules? The simplest of rules which is the most difficult for an individual to put into practice but would be the most miraculous when the multitudes come together and simply...

Does..." unto others as you would have them do unto you."

See a nation do for others, see a global movement of love and charity, and you will see how we were made in God's image.
